Set up your bridge (or the pieces of it!) on the bench with a printed card showing: team name, truss type, span, mass, max load, load-to-mass ratio. Tidy your bench.
I Do · ~10 min Teacher demonstration
Teacher introduces the award categories:
- 🥇 Strongest Bridge — highest max load
- 🪶 Lightest Bridge — lowest mass
- 📊 Best Load-to-Mass Ratio — engineering efficiency award
- 🎨 Most Beautiful — best aesthetics
- 📖 Best Documentation — cleanest folio
- 🔧 Best Recovery — team that improved most between dry-run and test
- 🧠 Most Thoughtful Evaluation — sharpest Part C writing
Ms Gao announces load leaderboard and ratio leaderboard from L20 data.
We Do · ~15 min Guided practice
Gallery walk — 15 min. Every pair stands by their bridge. Class rotates. At each bridge, the building pair gives a 1-minute pitch covering:
- What type of truss is it?
- Max load?
- One thing you're proud of?
- One thing you'd do differently?
Voters jot top 3 picks in each category on a voting card.
You Do · ~35 min Independent pair work
